Description
The Vermont Center for Ecostudies in cooperation with US Fish and Wildlife Service surveyed the wild bee communities of Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge beginning in the fall of 2020. The goal of this USFWS funded project was to create baseline knowledge of the wild bees within the refuge and provide management recommendations where appropriate.

Sampling consisted of a mix of bee bowls, netting, and field identifications. Not all bees seen were collected. Collections were focused on specious groups that aren't field identifiable.
Study Extent | From August of 2020 through 2021, specimens were collected on 30 different days with additional surveys planned for 2022. All records are from within Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge or adjacent wetlands |
