Description
This is a checklist of the known species of Odonata recorded in Vermont, USA. The checklist is derived from literature and verified records from specimens, surveys, photographs, and other verified records by the Vermont Damselfly and Dragonfly Atlas, a project of the Vermont Atlas of Life. Major data sources for the project include nearly 7,000 records — spanning a period from 1891 to 2015 — assembled by Mike Blust and Bryan Pfeiffer for a 2015 publication on the odonata fauna of Vermont. Each year we expand the atlas by adding data submitted through iNaturalist Vermont and Odonata Central.
Data Records
The data in this checklist resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 152 records.
2 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
