Description

We collected fairy shrimp (Anostraca: Chirocephalidae) from 25 vernal pools in Vermont, USA during spring in 2022 and 2023. Two species were recorded: Knob-lipped Fairy Shrimp (Eubranchipus bundyi), which was previously recorded in Vermont, and Intricate Fairy Shrimp or Smooth-lipped Fairy Shrimp (Eubranchipus intricatus), a new state record. Both species are widespread across North America, but the Intricate Fairy Shrimp is considered rare in nearby Massachusetts, where it is listed as a “Species of Special Concern.”

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 27 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
